Sooner or later, something goes wrong.
When things go wrong, you need more than a policy.
You need to know what to do, what happens next and who you can turn to for help.
At Propelr, we are here to help you make sense of the situation, navigate the claims process and work through the next steps.
Because looking after you means being there when it matters most.
Advice that moves you forward doesn’t stop when the policy starts.
How we help, step by step
STEP 1 · BEFORE ANYTHING HAPPENS
Know your policy
We explain what your policy covers, what it doesn't and what you'll need to do if you claim, so there are no surprises. You'll know who to call and what to have ready.
STEP 2 · THE MOMENT IT HAPPENS
Call us first
Let us know what's happened. We'll help you work out what to do next — from making sure people and property are safe to preserving important evidence and understanding what steps to take before contacting your insurer.
STEP 3 · MAKING THE CLAIM
We help you lodge it
We help notify the insurer, explain the process and work out what's needed, such as photos, invoices, quotes and proof of ownership, so you're not working it out alone. If you're a business, we'll also help you understand what your policy provides while you get back on your feet.
STEP 4 · WHILE IT'S ASSESSED
We talk to the insurer
We communicate with the insurer on your behalf where appropriate, answer their questions, follow the progress of your claim and keep you updated, so you always know where it's up to and what happens next.
STEP 5 · IF IT'S NOT STRAIGHTFORWARD
We advocate for you
Delays, questions about cover, disagreements about value. We'll help you understand the insurer's position, make sure your circumstances are properly understood and advocate for you where appropriate. We'll be honest about what your policy does and doesn't cover.
STEP 6 · AFTERWARDS
We review what changed
Once your claim is settled, we'll review what it means for your cover. That might include updating insured values, addressing any new risks or making changes based on what the claim has highlighted. Then we'll help you move forward with confidence.
If something has just happened
- Make sure everyone is safe. Your safety comes first.
- Prevent further damage. If it is safe to do so, take steps to limit further damage, such as turning off the water supply.
- Let us know as soon as possible. We'll help you understand what to do next and take you through the claims process.
- Take photos and keep records. Document the damage and keep any relevant receipts or paperwork.
- Keep damaged items. Don't throw anything away until you've spoken with us or your insurer.

Start by making sure everyone is safe and addressing any immediate risks. Where it’s safe to do so, keep damaged items and take photos or videos of the damage. Keep receipts and records of any urgent repairs. Contact us as soon as you can, and we’ll help you work out what to do next. If there’s an immediate danger, contact emergency services first.
We’ll support you through the process, help with communication and documentation, explain what the insurer needs and follow up where appropriate.
